Jeff Strueker Information and Bio:

Author, Pastor, and Former U.S. Army Ranger

Jeff Struecker confessed faith in Jesus Christ as his savior as a teenager. He enlisted in the US Army at age 18 and served for more than 22 years before retiring as a chaplain with the rank of Major in 2011.


Jeff spent most of his Army career serving in special operations units. He served in many positions in the

US Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment. He left active duty as a Sergeant First Class, while serving as an ROTC Instructor to become a chaplain. Jeff served as a chaplain in many Airborne and Ranger units before retiring from the US Army in 2011. He was inducted into the US Army Ranger Hall of Fame in 2017.


Jeff has been deployed to combat in Panama, Kuwait, Somalia, and many tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. He holds many decorations and recognitions for his military

service, including the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device for valor. He has attended many

professional military schools and has received many badges to recognize his specialized military training as an Infantryman, a Paratrooper, a Ranger and a Chaplain.


Jeff is an avid runner and has competed in and completed numerous marathons and ultramarathons. He also competed in and won the US Army’s Best Ranger Competition in 1996. In his spare time, Jeff is a writer. He is an award-winning author with many books in print. Jeff has served churches in many different positions. He has previously served as youth pastor and associate pastor. Upon retiring from the US Army, Jeff accepted a position on the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, GA. In 2014, he became the Lead Pastor. Jeff is married to his high school sweetheart, Dawn. They have five children and two grandchildren. He holds a Ph.D. from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in N.C.
